Qian Sun, Professor

Doctoral supervisor. Graduated from Department of Physics of Nankai University in 1997, he got the Doctor of Science degree and obtained the financial assistance from FWF from 2000 to 2001. He carried out the postdoctoral research in the Institute of Experimental Physics, Austria University of Vienna as Lise Meitner scholar. In 2001, he was selected as the Trans-century Excellent Talent by Ministry of Education. At present, he serves as the secretary and director in School of Physical Sciences of Nankai University and Tianjin Information Photonics Materials and Technology Key Laboratory respectively. Aimed at photonics and its technology, he is mainly engaged in the photonics microstructure research at present. As the person-in-charge, he was awarded with the Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from Ministry of Education, the First Prize of Tianjin National Natural Science Award, the Second Prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Invention Award and Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award in 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2009 respectively.
