Lixin Zhang, born in Hebei Province, the professor and doctoral advisor in School of Physics of Nankai University, Deputy Director in Condensed State and Functional Materials. Main resume: Bachelor in Department of Physics of Beijing Normal University; Master in Department of Physics of Peking University; Doctor in Physics Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences; America RPI and NREL postdoctoral and assistant researcher. He engages in the teaching of courses such as Solid State Theory and Lecture of Solid State Physics for postgraduate, and Density Functional Theory and Application, Experiment of College Physics and Condensed Matter Physics for undergraduate, etc. He ever presided over many general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and one major cultivation, and participated in the research of two 973 important projects. He concurrently serves as the Specialized Committee member for condensed state calculation of Chinese Society of Physics. 


Research direction: Main research direction is Computational Materials Science, and the high-performance computing device is utilized to research the surface, interface, novel phenomenon of defect, physics, and the application in electronic, materials, chemocatalysis, etc.


Recent research topic: 

1,Doping of graphene and potential application in fuel cell: calculating study of the first principles, 

2,and formation of semiconductor polycrystalline films and control dynamics. 

3,Magnetic order self-assembly structure building: weak bond and magnetic coupling intensity modulation, 

4,surface science problems of metal, and oxide composite catalytic materials, etc.
